04 April 2016 – FARE participates to the workshop of the coordination network SoilMacaSeqC

The research coordination network "SoilMecaSeqC" was created for studying mechanisms of organic matter stabilization in soil.

The international initiative "4 per 1000" (http://4p1000.org) promoting research programs to increase C stocks in soils by 4 ‰ (ie 0.4%) per year in order to limit the increase in atmospheric CO2 was launched by France in December 2015. 70 participants from the coordination network "SoilMecaSeqC" first met in Paris on March 10, 2016 to discuss science needs, in the presence of Jean-François Soussana, environment Scientific Director at INRA. Gwenaëlle Lashermes (UMR FARE) facilitated with Delphine Derrien (BEF), Marie-France Dignac (ECOSYS) Thiphaine Chevalier (Eco & Sols) a session on the impact of agricultural and forestry practices on C stabilization/destabilization mechanisms in soils. The filmed interventions will soon be available online. A written summary of the presentations will be written.
