FARE at the international "Plant Cell Wall Biology" conference

Solmaz, Yassin and Gabriel took an active part in the largest conference dedicated to the study of plant walls, which was held in Vancouver, Canada, from 6 to 10 July 2025.

The conference focused on the different aspects of the biosynthesis and transformation of primary and secondary plant walls, with sessions dedicated to the different polymers that make them up.

This was an opportunity for Solmaz Hossein Khani, a PhDstudent in her final year, to give her first oral presentation at an international conference, presenting to the international community her work on the use of fluorescence to predict the transformation of plant biomass.

Two posters also highlighted the approaches used to acquire and process 4D confocal imaging data, while a poster from the PEPR B-BEST FillingGaps project was displayed, as well as a poster on Julien du Pasquier's PhD work on characterising CAD mutants in poplar.

The next congress will be held in Porto in June 2026.
