FARE's Participation in the 29th Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergy in Bari, Italy

FARE’s participation in the 29th Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergy organized by the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES) . This international event, attended by more than 260 people, took place from June 21 to 25, 2026, in Bari, Italy.

The 29th Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergy, organized by the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES), aims to bring together both the world’s leading experts in bioelectrochemistry and newcomers to the field to present the latest advances and future prospects in the discipline. During the event, Animut Assefa, a Ph.D. student at FARE under the supervision of Sofiene Abdellaoui and Ludovic Besaury, gave an oral presentation on his work developing a microbial bioanode capable of functioning with recalcitrant, untreated lignocellulosic biomass. This study is being conducted as part of the PEPR B-BEST ElectroMic project led by the PROSE laboratory and the LBE.
