Talk by FARE at the 2026 edition of the Chalons-en-Champagne Fair

On Monday, August 31, 2026, Agathe SOUIRY, research engineer at FARE, gave a presentation at the Grand Reims Urban Community’s stand during the 80th edition of the Châlons-en-Champagne Fair.

This event was the result of a partnership between Grand Reims and the UMR FARE (Reims) and LAE (Colmar) developed within the SLAM-B project funded by the FairCarboN PEPR. This project, which includes seven study territories, aims to design and evaluate, using models, bioeconomy trajectories towards carbon neutrality by 2050. Among these territories is Reims.

After an introduction by Mr. Eric Giriardin, vice president of the Grand Reims Urban Community in charge of agriculture, viticulture, and tourism, who reminded the audience of the stakes surrounding agricultural sovereignty in the context of climate change, Agathe Souiry presented her initial findings with local stakeholders. She demonstrated how a simulation tool can be used to compare different scenarios for the evolution of agriculture by 2050 and to assess their consequences for the territories.
